About

At the beginning of this project (2007), it was started from a project for Web Programming. I still remember the idea was coined by my ex-student, Shake Radzi. From there I started to develop a very simple prototype to overcome one major problem of the system, the UTF-8 character transaction. It was important to develop the solution back then, because the system need to deals with Arabic characters.

After that, Azam Amin took over and developed the core backend system. He was the major contributor to this system.

On 2008, we were awarded a RM30,000 research grant to further develop this dictionary.

On 2010, we were awarded another RM5000 by MDeC, under the ICONApps initiative to develop the mobile version of this dictionary. We decided to add another language, English. We believe this would appeal a broader audience.
